How to Act as Your Business Page on Social Media
Acting as your business page is one of the quickest ways to grow your following on social media. It shows potential followers that you are engaging, interesting, and active. For the purpose of this article, we’re going to focus on Twitter and Facebook. Follow these four steps when acting as your business page to help grow your following.
1. Go Live
This is one of the best social features to come out of 2016. Going live on Periscope or Facebook Live is a great way to act as your page, and interact with your fan base. Get someone else to shoot the video, and inform you of any questions that come into the live stream so that you can engage your audience in real time.

2. Ask Questions
One of the simplest ways to engage others is to ask questions. This boils down to one of the fundamental rules of Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People.
“You can make more friends in two months by being interested in other people than in two years of trying to get people interested in you.”
That old rule still applies today, even in a digital world. You’ll get more engagement from asking questions than by making statements. Think of social media as a digital cocktail party.
3. Like and Follow Other Businesses
Acting as your page is one of the most underused strategies for companies on Facebook. All you have to do is click the “See Pages Feed” on the right-hand sidebar of your Business Page.
From there, you can like other pages, see their posts, and interact with other brands. Like brands that have a similar, but new audience to your own.
For example – if you’re a real estate agent, try commenting and connecting with a local moving company in your area. This is a great way to be introduced to a following that has similar interests to your own brand.
4. Mention Other Companies With a Similar Audience
One of the biggest mistakes being committed on Facebook is companies not tagging other brands in their posts. If you share an article or photo that was put out by another company, tag them in your post. You can do this by typing the @ symbol, followed by the business name on Facebook, or the handle used by the company on Twitter. It takes 10 seconds, and can potentially lead to thousands of new people seeing your posts.

After all, if you don’t notify other companies that you’re mentioning them, there’s a good chance they’ll miss it all together.
