4 Social Plugins Every WordPress User Needs
One of the great things about WordPress is its vast community, and when it comes to creating good social plugins the crowd has not let us down. WordPress is full of excellent social plugins to help you grow your following and connect with your site’s visitors. Here are a few tried and tested plugins that will help you keep the conversation going.
1. SumoMe by SumoMe
SumoMe offers a great suite of tools (which I’ve written about extensively in the past), and when it comes to social media they really hit it out of the park. Their Highlighter tool allows your website visitors to quickly highlight parts of your content and share that content in one click. It removes barriers when it comes to social sharing, which is always a good thing. Along with the Highlighter tool, SumoMe also comes with an Image Sharer tool. Image Sharer makes it easy for users to share the images on your website, without having to save any files to their computer. Again, it removes steps in the sharing process, making it easier for your website’s content to take flight.
You can probably see the SumoMe share plugin on the left hand side of this page, or take a look at the picture below.

2. Facebook Comments by Fat Panda
There’s nothing special about Facebook Comments by Fat Panda, it’s just a really easy plugin that does what you’d expect it to – replace WordPress comment boxes with Facebook comment boxes. If you’re active on Facebook (and you should be) having a Facebook comments box as your default box is a good strategy – all comments are printed in hidden blocks to maximize SEO. Be sure to respond!

3. Starbox by Squirrly UK
Starbox is a clean and simple author box that displays the author’s photo and social media links. It’s a great way to make a deeper connection with your audience, getting them familiar with your contributors and their different writing styles. It’s sure to increase your subscriber numbers across multiple platforms – if you’re writing good content, of course.

4. Click to Tweet by Todaymade
Click to Tweet is a widely used plugin that does just what the name says – it makes it easy to share a predefined Tweet you’ve highlighted for your reader. Take the time to think about what part of your blog is the most shareable (and under 140 characters). You can set your Tweet boxes to include your Twitter handle as well, giving your brand valuable impressions on Twitter. Here’s what it looks like:
